SERVICE QUESTIONS

 

What are private transportation services and how can I use?

Private transportation services encompass a number of passenger services that use cars and other vehicles, including long distance transfer services, bus or coach services and chauffeur services that charge to carry passengers. These services must be pre-booked and drivers must charge a set fare or hourly rate agreed at the time of booking. The driver of a private hire vehicle may not use a taxi meter to determine a fare.

 

When can we request at earliest and can I get an offer, if I don't know the exact addresses?

With pleasure we send you an offer, but not earlier than 3 month within your planned departure date and knowing all information which is needed. The reason is that we can not forecast the fares (toll fee, costs of fuel, parking fee.. etc) so much time in advance and can not guess your pick-up place, drop-off place or the day of travel, if you are also unsure about it. We thank you for your understanding.

 

Do you have airport transfer between Budapest and neighbourhood countries?

We have long-distance transfers only, so yes is possible between Budapest and Vienna Airport, Bratislava Airport or Zagreb Airport. In case you like like travel to an airport which is far, we recommend to travel one day prior in order to avoid being late and miss your flight.

 

Do you have multi-city tour?

Our company offers multi-city visits, like Prague-Vienna-Budapest-Ljubljana or Krakow-Budapest-Zagreb-Split, which can take more than 1 day. The vehicle and the driver can stay with you or your group, if you stay no longer than one night per place. Send us your route and we would be happy to assist you on your journey in Central-Europe.

 

Can we stop for lunch or to see other places along the way?

Yes, of course and the costs will vary depending upon distances and waiting times.

 

Do you provide cheaper shared shuttle transport between countries?

We don't operate shared transport, furthermore we are not recommending to use this type of service for long-distance travel, because there is no legal company in Central-Eastern Europe for that. Official shared shuttle can be offered only at airports on each city and not between countries. You might wish to consider using the train or bus instead.

 

Do you provide transfer between Budapest city central and Budapest airport?

No. We have long-distance transfers only. We recommend you the official yellow taxi or the 100E shuttle bus in Budapest.

 

I can see your company is based in Budapest. Is it a problem, if the pick-up place is not in Hungary?

Not problem, because we provide transfers in both directions. Accomodation of the driver will be covered always by the company, so not an extra costs for the customers.

 

How much luggage can I take with me?

Each passenger has an allowance of 1 big suitcase and 1 hand luggage without any weight limit. We don't charge extra large luggage, if notified to us in advance when making your reservation. It is your responsibilty to let us know well in advance.

 

What type of vehicles do you have?

We have a modern fleet of vehicles consists of German cars (Volkswagen, Opel, Mercedes). All our vehicles are installed with a GPS tracking system. We can track our vehicles anytime, anywhere in Europe.

 

Do drivers speak foreign-languages?

Most of them speak English very well, and all of them are able to communicate on different languages (French or German).


 

PAYMENT & BOOKING QUESTIONS

 

How early do I need to book my private transfer?

We recommend that you book as early as you can, because we can confirm only upon availability, but up to 24 hours before the travel start. Please be aware that for the offer or reservation we need full information about your trip.

 

Are your prices quoted per person or per vehicle?

Prices are quoted per vehicle.

 

What is included in your prices?

All our transfers have fixed prices, which cover all taxes, liability insurance, toll fee, parking fee, luggage assistance, transportation by air-conditioned and non-smoking vehicle, costs of fuel and full professional local chauffeur.

 

How can I book the private transportation?

First you can send only a request online through our website and our team will get in touch with you. It is really important that you provide all necessary details of your travel, so we can double check and send you a tailor made offer. After you agree with all and you send a written confirmation, we definitely make a fix reservation for you. Please note that to send an enquiry means only that we registered you in our system, reconfirmation is obligatory. After that we send you the e-Voucher (Transportation Confirmation Voucher by e-mail) which includes the booking details, chauffeur contact details and your reservation number.

 

What you need from me for the reservation?

  • Full name of the lead client (name under the booking has been made at the accommodation)
  • Emergency mobile number of the lead client (with country code)
  • Exact pick-up address (with name of the accommodation)
  • Exact drop-off address (with name of the accommodation)
  • Your chosen option (with stop on the way or without stop)
  • Type of the vehicle (car, van or bus)
  • Pick-up date and time

 

How can I pay for my transfer?

  • Individual group from 1 till 8 pax - The price of the transfer must be paid in cash directly to the driver. You may pay in EUR or HUF (Hungarian Forint) as well. If you pay in other currency than Euro, the price may vary slightly, based on the actual exchange rate. We do not need deposit and the driver gives you the invoice of the service.
  • Individual group above 9 pax - If the transfer start in Budapest you can pay by cash and we do not need deposit, if not we accept only bank transfer (100%) in advance and after we will send you the invoice and the e-Voucher (Transportation Confirmation Voucher by e-mail)
  • Partners and travel agencies - Our professional contracted partners have the possibility of payment by bank transfer in advance and after we will send you the invoice and the e-Voucher (Transportation Confirmation Voucher by e-mail)

 

How can I cancel my reservation?

All cancellation needs to be forwarded in written to us. We do not charge any penalty fee, however we kindly ask you to book only in case your travel in 100% sure, but we recommend that you book as early as you can. We trust you and we take the risk to refuse other bookings, knowing that we can lose business, therefore please take this into consideration. Please note that from your first e-mail we have your IP address, location and other information and in case of no-show we reserve the right to collect the debt by court.

 

Can you give us a discount?

For one way transfer we do not give, however if you book minimum 2 different transfer with stop on the way option, we can give you discount. For example from Poland to Hungary with short stop in Slovakia and from Hungary to Italy with short stop in Slovenia.

 

We like to travel by bus but not departing from Hungary. We do not like to wire in advance. Is there any other solution to secure our booking?

There is no unfortunately. On the day of the booking we need to share it with the Authorities and already pay the taxes. Also please consider that by booking a bus the costs are much higher. Should you still belive that you do not like to wire in advance, regrettably we need to say goodbye and you need to search for another supplier.

 

Do I have to tip the driver?

Tipping is regarded as a sign of good service here, if you decide not to tip then no-one will think any less of you. All our drivers expect from you is the fare you were quoted and if you decide to tip, surely they will appreciate it.


 

OTHER QUESTIONS

 

How can I find my chauffeur?

  • Hotel - In the reception or lobby
  • Private apartment - On the main entrance of the accomodation
  • River cruises & ships - At the reception area of the ship
  • Airport - In the terminal’s meeting point with a A4 format plate (with the passenger’s name on it)

Our chauffeur is showing you the invoice with your name on it, to recognise the company.

  

Do I have a guide when I require an excursion during my way?

The prices do not include a guide only the chauffeur. The chauffeur is staying in the car during your excursion and wait for you at each stop you may wish to make.

 

What happens if my driver is delayed?

By the last 10 years experience we had, it happened maximum 3 times that we were late 10 - 15 minutes. In this case we call you right away, it is not neccessary to ring us. Should the driver be late more than 5 minutes and we did not call you, please call further emergency number, provided on your booking confirmation and our dispatcher will assist you immediately.

 

In case of an excursions how long is the travel time and how long is the real excursion?

The given duration for the excursion means the real timing for excursion (sightseeing, lunch.. etc) starting from the stopping time.

 

I am travelling with a baby, do you have a seat for it?

This is not a problem, we can provide a baby seat or booster seat free of charge. Please provide information on the number of children and their ages at the time of booking. This is your own responsibility, as we do not know their age.

 

I am disabled. Can I travel with a wheelchair? 

A wheelchair can be transported free of charge, if notified to us in advance when making your reservation.

 

Is it allowed to smoke, eat and drink in the vehicle?

Sometimes we have more transfers in one day, so it is forbidden to smoke and eat in the vehicle. Only mineral water can be consumed. In case you would like to smoke or eat, please signal to the driver and during a short stoppage, it is possible to do this outside the vehicle.

 

Can you recommend any other supplier instead of you?

No, in this case we can not help. We do not like to recommend any other company, because in case of any inconvenience we can have a bad reputation, but be careful if the prices are too low to be true.

 

Can I book a vehicle without driver?

No, because we are not a car hire company.

 

Do you have insurance?

We have full public liability insurance in the case of accidents. We do, however, recommend that you have a travel insurance policy that is valid for the duration of your trip.

 

Are your transfers cheaper compared to travel by train, bus or plane?

Travelling long distances in Central-Eastern Europe with private transportation service is much better than train, bus or plane. The most significant benefit is the travel time, which is much shorter compared to the regular bus or train connection. Plus, with bus or train you need time and another form of transport to get to and from your address or hotel to your final destination, so if you travel by train or bus you will also have to add costs for getting to and from the train or station from your hotel. With our door-to-door transport, there are no other stops on the way unless you ask us to do so (for toilet, lunch, sightseeing.. etc). For example, if four person is travelling then the total price is around the same as travelling by bus or train. Generally for larger groups it might be cheaper travelling by private transfer. Last but not least, sometimes there is no direct connection by travelling train or bus and you are forced to wait long hours by changing the vehicles.

 

We are group of four people and have a lot of luggage. Will they fit into a car?

In case you think the offered vehicle is too small for your luggages, it is better to book a bigger vehicle. This is your own responsibility, as we do not know how many luggages you plan to carry with you. We have experienced that in every country medium and large luggages mean something different.

 

I see you have many websites on the internet. Which is the main web page?

We are the Transport Budapest Group and we have 4 official brands. So it is not neccessary to send a request trough all websites we operate, it's enough to use only one. We use only secure websites (https://). This are our pages:
